Yes. Brazilian customs requires the importer of record to be identified by a CPF (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas) for an individual or a CNPJ (Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica) for a company. Without one of these, your shipment cannot be cleared through Brazilian customs. Please have your recipient's CPF or CNPJ ready before you book, and confirm that the name on the document matches the name on the delivery address.

Import duties, ICMS and other Brazilian taxes are normally payable by the importer of record — your recipient or their company.
